showbf
The showbf (Show BackFill) command can be used to find out how many nodes are available for immediate use on the system. It is anticipated that users will be able to use this information to submit jobs that meet these criteria and obtain quick job turn around times.
Example:
showbf
Example output:
BackFill Window for Tue May 13 11:01:34 1997 [ 1] 34 Nodes Available for 320 Seconds [ 1] 26 Nodes Available for 10522 Seconds [ 2] 9 Nodes Available without Restriction
In this example situation, a job could be submitted for immediate execution that required up to 34 nodes as long as it completed in less than 320 seconds. Likewise, jobs requiring up to 26 nodes that complete in less than 10,522 seconds or any job with any valid WallClock limit that requires 9 or fewer nodes could also be started immediately.
